Snorkeling at nite is much different than daytime. Observing life that isn’t there during the day. Octopus, squid, shrimp, crab, lobster. The coral is reproducing. Parrot fish are in their bubble, fish are sleeping. Witness biolumenessence. Try Something Different. Don’t be afraid of the dark. Snorkel the Local Reef at night a short boat ride away. Guided by Rodrigo Allen, an experienced original island guide. We depart close to sunset and enter the water at dusk.

crocodile night cruise and stargazing

Starting at dusk to dark, we go by boat to South end of island, where time has stood still, and crocodiles that inhabit the mangroves and coves feeding on crab. The mangrove nightlife is alive as we quietly respect and view. Crocodiles are protected in Belize for over 30 years. Once hunted for their skins. We hope to witness bioluminescence, search for crocodiles, night birds and enjoy the stars, brilliant in the dark night and away from the sounds and lights of Caye Caulker.
